Radeon RX 7600 vs GeForce RTX 5050: Value Comparison

For pure 1080p raster gaming the Radeon RX 7600 offers a slight edge in performance per euro. However, if ray‑tracing matters, the GeForce RTX 5050 provides roughly twice the value.

The Radeon RX 7600 gives a slightly higher raster FPS per euro than the GeForce RTX 5050, making it the better buy for plain 1080p gaming. If you need any ray-tracing though, the RTX 5050 has you getting roughly double the performance per euro.

What the numbers say

At the cheapest new EU listings the RX 7600 costs €317 (which is €3 less than the RTX 5050 at €320) and it delivers 69.9 FPS on a 1080p Ultra test. The RTX 5050 scores 69.3 FPS in the same spot. That puts the RX 7600 at about 0.22 FPS/€ and the RTX 5050 a hair less, a 2 % advantage for the Radeon despite the €3 price gap.

Both cards ship with 8 GB of VRAM as listed. Memory capacity isn’t a differentiator.

Raster performance per euro (new)

Card New price (€) 1080p Ultra FPS FPS/€
RX 7600 317 69.9 0.22
RTX 5050 320 69.3 0.22

In raw raster terms the two cards are neck-and-neck. The RX 7600 squeezes out a tiny edge for a marginally lower spend.

Ray‑tracing value

Turn on ray-tracing at the same 1080p Ultra setting and the RTX 5050 hits 31.2 FPS according to Tom’s Hardware. That’s about 0.098 FPS/€. The RX 7600 drops to 16.0 FPS in the same test. Looks like roughly 0.051 FPS/€. So, the RTX 5050 offers roughly double the ray-tracing performance per euro.

Second‑hand market

If you’re hunting for a used deal, the RX 7600 can be found for €239. It still out-performs a used RTX 5050 at €259. The performance-per-euro numbers are 0.293 FPS/€ for the Radeon versus 0.268 FPS/€ for the Nvidia. That gives the RX 7600 a 9 % advantage.

Both cards keep the same 8 GB VRAM pool. The used price gap is the only factor that shifts the balance.

Overall recommendation

If your primary goal is solid 1080p raster gaming on a tight budget, the RX 7600 is the clear winner. It’s a fraction cheaper new, cheaper used, and gives a modest FPS-per-euro edge. Choose the RTX 5050 only if you plan to use ray-tracing at all. Its double-the-FPS-per-euro in that niche makes it the only sensible option for RT-heavy titles.

What the data can’t tell you

The benchmarks use a single synthetic suite and a specific test rig. Real-world frame-rates can vary with drivers, game optimisation, and CPU bottlenecks (nor are regional warranty differences that may affect a used purchase covered). Power draw, noise, and long-term driver support are not in there.
